|    Mamas & Papas Capitol Rec Club LP oddity    |
|    02 Feb 04 20:13:18    |
From: cz@centurytel.net              I recently found a copy of the first Mamas and the Papas LP, "If You Can       Believe Your Eyes and Ears". This one is a Capitol record club pressing       numbered ST-90797. The odd thing is that the cover has the artwork from the       second Mamas & Papas LP (self-titled) on the front and includes the Dunhill       number DS 50010 (from the second LP) at the top. The rear of the cover has       the correct artwork from the first LP and the left spine lists the title       from the first LP and ST-90797. Was this Capitol record club's attempt to       get rid of the offending 'toilet' on the original cover art while waiting       for Dunhill to provide edited artwork? Has anyone else seen this variation?       Thanks, CZ              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
