   1. Every now and again I buy a handful of old LPs and as often as not   
   I like them and keep them by, others I give away. But is there some   
   sort of guide as to value? (Mostly classical mono recordings with a   
   bit of jazz & pop).   
      
   2. What sort of deck should one use to minimise wear? Ashamed to think   
   that I could have answered this question 30 years ago, but technology,   
   even for the preservation of antiquity, must have advanced since then?
