I don't claim to be an expert ... but I have purchased, recently, about 15
"Scott Part 1 lots" like this. Your 1000 is a relatively low count ... I've
picked up albums with as many as 10,000 stamps.

While there may be a sleeper or 2 in the album; ones that are worth a little
more than average, "most" stamps typically found in these types of
collections are not rare. Nor expensive. Depending on the lot (the more
"different" in the lot, the higher the value to me), you can fetch on eBay
between 2 and 5 cents per stamp.

Put it on eBay with as many pictures as you feel are justified and see what
you get. Or, just go to eBay and search for a particular brand of album, or
browse the worldwide lots/collections and see what's being offered.

I recently sold 2 albums I had picked over. I was very disappointed with
the priced the fetched. One album with 3500 stamps through 1949 and another
with 1900 between 1940 and 1949. They sold for $32 and 27, respectively.
If I would have known they would go so cheap, I would have kept them. Then
again, what am I going to do with albums I've already reviewed? Plenty of
great material, but nothing left that *I* need!
