Some folks collect first day covers. Some folks collect covers cancelled in
the 1800's (as do I, too). I collect space covers, rocket flown covers,
some zeppelin covers more recently. And Canadian military postmarks, but I
   said that last post.

It's not the cancelled stamps that I'm looking to get, specifically. It's
the envelope, with a stamp cancelled with a specific postmark. Simply, I
collect postmarks on complete envelopes. Certainly you've heard of people
collecting "covers" before, haven't you? I suppose it's possible you
haven't, but I'd find it a bit surprising.
