From: stamps@optonline.net              AFDCS TO "CELEBRATE" DEBUT OF NEW STAMP AT AMERICOVER 2007              The American First Day Cover Society and the U.S. Postal Service will       celebrate the debut of the new Celebrate! stamp at Americover 2007,       which will be held in Stamford, Conn., August 17-19.              The new stamp, replacing the "Happy Birthday" one, will be released on       Friday of the show, which has been described as one big party.              "If there is any group that knows how to celebrate, it is the American       First Day Cover Society," said Foster E. Miller III, programs and       seminar chairman of Americover 2007, who is also the Society's liaison       with the USPS. "The USPS knows this too; they were the ones who       offered "Celebrate!" to me. I quickly accepted."              The new stamp, special postmarks, and unserviced cacheted envelopes       will be available.              In addition, this year's Legends of Hollywood stamp, James Stewart, is       tentatively set for an August 17th release in Burbank, Calif. If so,       with the new nationwide release policy, the Stewart stamp should be       offered for sale (and postmarking) at Americover 2007 in Stamford.              The following evening, the public will have an opportunity to see and       purchase a wide range of cacheted FDCs celebrating the new Celebrate!       and possibly James Stewart stamps.              Americover 2007, a three-day World Series of Philately show will be       held at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, and will feature a large       mostly-FDC bourse, cachetmakers bourse, top exhibits, a banquet,       meetings, seminars, youth booth, pre-show area tour and post-show       dinner event.              To obtain the special $99 Americover room rate, call the Marriott       reservation line at 888-236-2427 or the hotel directly at       203-357-9555, and specify "Americover."              For more information on Americover 2007 and the AFDCS, contact the       AFDCS at P.O. Box 16277, Tucson, Arizona 85732-6277, or       Americover2007@afdcs.org, or visit www.afdcs.org.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
