Illyefalvi of Maryland will be chief judge for Americover       2007, the annual show and convention of the American First Day Cover       Society.              He will be joined on the exhibition jury by Ronald E. Lesher of       Maryland; Douglas Clark of Massachusetts; William Schultz of       Pennsylvania; and Stephen Suffet of New York.              The three-day World Series of Philately show will be held August 17-19       at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, and will feature a large       mostly-FDC bourse, cachetmakers bourse, top exhibits, a banquet,       meetings, seminars, youth booth, pre-show area tour and post-show       dinner event.              The U.S. Postal Service's new Celebrate! stamp will be issued during       the show, too.              Charles J. "Chuck" O'Brien III, a veteran WSP and first day cover       exhibitor, won the Grand Award for best exhibit at Americover 2006 for       his "Joint Issues with the United States 1959-1994." His "Georgia       Bicentennial 1733-1933" picked up the Reserve Grand, as well as the       APS Award of Excellence for 1900-1940 Material and the United States       Stamp Society Statue of Freedom Award.              Illyefalvi collects and exhibits FDCs as well as postal stationery and       postal history of Hungary and South Africa. He was instrumental in       establishing the original guidelines for judging first day covers and       is an international judge.              Lesher is a specialist in United States revenue stamps and also       collects Netherlands and France, among other areas. An international       judge, he serves as the U.S. representative to the International       Federation of Philately's commission on revenues and is vice president       of the commission's bureau. He is a past president of the American       Revenue Association.              Clark collects and exhibits postal history and postal stationery, as       well as mobile post office mail. He is also an international judge, and exhibits United States       postal stationery FDCs.              Schultz specializes in Pennsylvania state postal history, among other       collecting areas, and is past president of the Pennsylvania Postal       History Society. He has written and edited articles on postal history       and was author of the first catalog on Rattlesnake Island Post, which       became a runaway best seller.              Suffet collects and exhibits thematics, U.S. postal history,       stationery and first day covers. He formed an outstanding collection       of the rates and usages of the U.S. Presidential series that has won       national grand awards.              The Americover 2007 prospectus and exhibit application may be       downloaded from the AFDCS Web site, www.afdcs.org, or requested by       e-mail from Norman Elrod, nelrod@infoave.net. A business-size       self-addressed stamped envelope would be appreciated.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
