   Denise Lazaroff of Elkton, Md., is the new Youth Coordinator of the   
   American First Day Cover Society.   
      
   The appointment was announced recently by her husband, Chris Lazaroff,   
   president of the AFDCS.   
      
   "She is bringing a great amount of experience in working with children   
   to this position," he said. "Denise has held many successful vacation   
   bible schools at churches that she has attended. She also served for   
   six years as a director of a latchkey (after-school) program."   
      
   Mrs. Lazaroff coordinated the youth table at Americover 2008, the   
   annual AFDCS show and convention that was held Aug. 22-24. At the   
   table, children were able to make their own cachets for first day   
   covers, among other activities.   
      
   Mrs. Lazaroff, who has a bachelor's degree in Business Communication   
   from Western Michigan University, will also handle other youth   
   activities for the society during the rest of the year.   
      
   In recent years, she has organized workshops at Americover for   
   non-collecting spouses. Last year, she launched a very successful line   
   of three-dimensional cachets, called "3D-Laz."   
      
   She and her husband have two daughters.   
      
   The AFDCS is a 501(c)3 charitable organization on the basis of its   
   educational programs, which also include publications.
