   Americover 2009 Names Exhibits Jury

Alan Warren of Pennsylvania will chair the jury at Americover 2009,
which takes place at the Holiday Inn at Boxborough, Mass., July 31 to
August 2. Joining him on the panel are William Bauer and Ann Triggle
of New York, Jeff Shapiro of Massachusetts, and Ken Nilsestuen of
Ohio. All of the jurors are accredited American Philatelic Society
   national judges.

Americover 2009 is a World Series of Philately show dedicated to first
day covers and the annual convention of the American First Day Cover
Society. It will feature 180 frames of competitive philatelic
exhibits, commercial and cachetmakers bourses, seminars and meetings.
Admission to the show is free and open to the public.

"Americover is the preferred venue for exhibiting illustrated mail and
first day covers," Warren observes. "Cacheted FDCs (illustrated mail)
as well as earliest known or documented uses of postage stamps (postal
history) are the features of this show. The Grand Award winner at
Americover is invited to enter the annual Champion of Champions
competition held at the American Philatelic Society's StampShow the
   following August."

Warren is a past recording secretary and director of the American
First Day Cover Society and often exhibits United States and
Scandinavian first day covers. Triggle and Bauer have served
previously on Americover panels and both are internationally (FIP)
   accredited judges.

Triggle's specialties include British Commonwealth postal history,
thematics, revenues, and single frames among others. She has exhibited
first day covers of the U.S. 1972 pharmacy stamp. She is a past chair
of the APS Committee on the Accreditation of National Exhibitions and
   Judges.

Bauer's expertise includes U.S., Germany, British Pacific, Japan and
Scandinavia among others. He has written extensively on Colorado
postal history. He is a past president of the APS, and also chaired
   its accreditation committee.

Shapiro specializes in United States 20th century postal history and
aerophilately. He is a past president and current director of the
Northeast Federation of Stamp Clubs that sponsors Philatelic Show, the
annual WSP show held in May at the same location.

Ken Nilsestuen collects and exhibits French area material such as
French Africa, Madagascar, and Algeria. His specialties include postal
history and postal stationery. He is working on an exhibit of first
day covers of the U.S. 1949 Minnesota Territory issue.
