      From: stamps@optonline.net              Americover 2009 Names Exhibits Jury              Alan Warren of Pennsylvania will chair the jury at Americover 2009,       which takes place at the Holiday Inn at Boxborough, Mass., July 31 to       August 2. Joining him on the panel are William Bauer and Ann Triggle       of New York, Jeff Shapiro of Massachusetts, and Ken Nilsestuen of       Ohio. All of the jurors are accredited American Philatelic Society       national judges.              Americover 2009 is a World Series of Philately show dedicated to first       day covers and the annual convention of the American First Day Cover       Society. It will feature 180 frames of competitive philatelic       exhibits, commercial and cachetmakers bourses, seminars and meetings.       Admission to the show is free and open to the public.              "Americover is the preferred venue for exhibiting illustrated mail and       first day covers," Warren observes. "Cacheted FDCs (illustrated mail)       as well as earliest known or documented uses of postage stamps (postal       history) are the features of this show. The Grand Award winner at       Americover is invited to enter the annual Champion of Champions       competition held at the American Philatelic Society's StampShow the       following August."              Warren is a past recording secretary and director of the American       First Day Cover Society and often exhibits United States and       Scandinavian first day covers. Triggle and Bauer have served       previously on Americover panels and both are internationally (FIP)       accredited judges.              Triggle's specialties include British Commonwealth postal history,       thematics, revenues, and single frames among others. She has exhibited       first day covers of the U.S. 1972 pharmacy stamp. She is a past chair       of the APS Committee on the Accreditation of National Exhibitions and       Judges.              Bauer's expertise includes U.S., Germany, British Pacific, Japan and       Scandinavia among others. He has written extensively on Colorado       postal history. He is a past president of the APS, and also chaired       its accreditation committee.              Shapiro specializes in United States 20th century postal history and       aerophilately. He is a past president and current director of the       Northeast Federation of Stamp Clubs that sponsors Philatelic Show, the       annual WSP show held in May at the same location.              Ken Nilsestuen collects and exhibits French area material such as       French Africa, Madagascar, and Algeria. His specialties include postal       history and postal stationery.
