|    question re Nigeria stamps...    |

From: sgwaters@tampabay.rr.com              Sorry 'bout this, but I don't have any Scott catalogs here with me, and       while looking through some stamps tonight, I found two pairs of stamps with       very conspicuous color differences. The first was (like I said, sorry, but I       can't give you a number - no catalog!) a 20k value, probably late 60s-early       70s, for "vaccine production" - and I have one that appears to be with       correct colors (e.g., beakers full of blue, bubbling liquids), and the other       with the beakers entirely black; likewise, the background color in the first       (correct?) one is pink, but the other is almost a dull orange.       The second one, much more noticeable, is in the 5k stamp "cattle ranching".       One, which I assume is the correct one, has the middle of it in a kind of       yellow-green, so that the cattle appear to be grazing and are much more       apparent. In the second version, instead of the yellow-green, the field is       the same dark green throughout, and the cattle are darker as well.              So, my questions: are these genuine variations that are noted in Scott? And       is there any difference in values with them?              Thanks for any help or info!              Sally              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
