   Current coinage (most) doesn't have enough silver to show. Gives more false   
   'non chalk' readings than reasonable. You can get small silver wire from a   
   jeweler for 'pennies'.   
      
   I take a small 1/4" dowl, drill a small hole in an end and insert (super   
   glue) a 1" folded loop of wire. Very fine line, and positive test.
