From: dahoov2@cox.net              Ok, so I received an email from an actor... who was upset by a post I       made here before (I delete posts after read and responded to, so I       don't know exactly what I said 100% but I do remember the scenario and       the intent). Therefore, let me clear it up now.              I was alluding to the fact that Star Wars fans are morons. People       with apparently no lives. It used to be drama before but after I left       the inner sanctum and went rogue, there came to be new collectors who       are INSANE. They have nothing better to do than to scrutinize       signatures (oh the H and Harrison is not perfect, so I'm not paying       400 for that) or "the ink is a little heavy here... " or "that       signature is larger than the rest".... "or they used sharpie and I       prefer...." . You get the point. They have nothing new to talk about       so they start inventing crap, acting like they are all experts.              Besides being experts on photos and pens/markers, they also think they       are film experts. But what they are rumor-mongers who ruin people's       lives. They slam celebrities and make up crap about what they've been       in (scenes, or lines they may or may not have said). It's beyond       ridiculous. I remember in my post mentioning Lightning Bear. I have       just spoken to him... and he will have to defend himself. I think       that's a shame. Say he said he was in a scene and he wasn't? The       fact is, there is solid proof he was in the films. We see him a few       times and in a couple different roles. So the one thing where his       memory is faulty isn't a big thing. I mentioned Hal Wamsley and how       they ruined this man's career. I hope Hal was in the film but it's       not up to the fans to rumor-monger. If there is an issue, take it up       with Lucasfilm. It is your duty. I mentioned Barrie Holland       (apparently spelling his name incorrectly as "Barry" so I publicly       apologize for that... I do know the correct spelling, so it was a       typo. It had been mentioned to me that someone (and I will not say       who as this person is well known in the business) that he was       incorrectly signing a line he said... I have no idea if that's the       case (seems to me he actually did say the line as I recall, but I've       not watched the film in quite some time so before I comment, I'd have       to watch AGAIN).              The point of the whole entire post is simply this: if you have a       problem as a fan (or even as an actor or crew member) with someone       lying about a role, line, or scene in a film, it would NOT be in       anyone's best interest to start rumors on boards. Report it to       Lucasfilm or contact the party and clear it up (by getting proof)       before you ruin someone's life. My intent was not to accuse any of       the actors or any misdoings, but to scold the fans for hurting people       unjustly.              I hope that clears it up.              PS The newest target is Jeremy Bulloch I was told. I have not seen the       boards but there you have one of the nicest if not the single nicest       man EVER and slamming him? Man. How sad is that! In the 13 years of       collecting, I've never once before today heard anything but praise for       Mr. Bulloch. I am sad to know someone would start ugly rumors like       that without proof. And by the way proof is NOT "someone told me...".       If you do not have documented evidence like a call sheet, shut up!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
