From: dahoov2@cox.net              So we had VIP passes and got to meet Foreigner and Bryan Adams.              The event area we were at wasn't run well. It started off with them       having faulty scanners (a couple) and they wouldn't let us get our       bands to get in the back gate right away. Once inside the gate, we       were supposed to be given bags with CD's (one per person), a poster       and other "great stuff". The other great stuff turned out to be ads       and a cheap can koozy (coozie or however you spell it). There were       only about a dozen chairs and a lot more than a dozen people (women in       white pants or high heels sitting on grass or standing the whole       time). Then we were supposed to get a "BBQ dinner". Turned out to be       a hot dog and handful of stale potato chips; we had to purchase the $5       sodas and $8 beer. Literally that's all they had....unless you count       the ketchup and mustard!              Then we were told not to ask the bands for photos with them or ask       them to sign anything but people were so upset about not having their       BBQ, there were three girls (two with spouses) where they were (with       me offering to help them) starting to get the rest riled up... so they       relented and said ONE item and you could take a photo OF the band but       not with them. However when they came out, Foreigner said to screw       the venue guys and they were nice and allowed people to at least get       somewhere near them and they were shaking hands and talking... they       signed for me a poster and the CD had been presigned. Jason Bonham       allowed people to take photos with him much to the dismay of the       handlers. The lead singer was awesome before and during and after the       concert. I didn't bother with anymore sigs though (two was enough).       When Bryan Adams came out, he was nicer than expected since I'd heard       stories about him being pretty nasty. He allowed the girls to jump on       the table and sit with him to take a photo. However, at first he       insisted to personalize, then didn't then towards the end, insisted       again. I got a CD slick signed but because they made me put a post it       on the front, he flipped it over and signed the back. Also, on the       poster he signed for my better half, it was signed in black on black       (as was the case of Foreigner). You can barely read the sigs. One the       poster with the black sigs no inscriptions. So I told my hubby to get       in line again and try again (and I slid him a silver sharpie). But       this time he insisted to personalize. So I get a CD signed on the       BACK, an undedicated signed black on black and a silver nice one with       my hubby's name on it. Gee friggin whiz. But still three       none-the-less. Then once you left the area to use the restroom or go       anywhere else, you weren't allowed back in.              During the concert, Bryan told the venue people to let the people run       up front and take photos etc. When the guard near us turned his back,       Bryan came to the end of the stage and put his foot on him to shoo him       away. The venue people were having a heart attack. I can see why. It       would be pandamonium. But it was hilarious seeing the guards spasming       when people stood on seats, stole people's other seats or try to come       where we were.              Anyway, not run well at all... none of it; but the bands were great       both on and off stage. Updates on my site maybe Sunday. I am headed       to another concert tonight so we'll see how that goes (no backstage       for that one).              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
