|    OT: Ebay bitching again    |
|    30 Jan 09 11:09:09    |
From: dahoov2@cox.net              I know people don't appreciate my bitching but I do it with love, as       if I can help others, that's why I do it (not to bitch as I've already       taken care of the matter as much as I can). But I do it to point out       bad sellers as well as help others to see the ills of Ebay. Hopefully       someone will heed the warnings. So here we go:              Ebay changed it's policy on feedback to read 100% feedback within a       YEAR. Meaning those with bad feedback can be good for a year and go       bad again. This apparently has just happened to me.              Yes, I bitched at first because in 9 years on Ebay when the policy was       done last year (it's 10 years for me now), I had ONE bad feedback       ever. That feedback lowered my score when they did it from 99.8% (I       was one feedback from a 99.9) to way low (like 96.8 or something..       forget). But that system was still better than now! They should       revamp now to be 3-5 years so you can see the longevity of people.       Anyway, with one year, people rip people off and get suspended or       just enough bad feedback to stay alive. THEN, they come back and rip       people off again when their feedback goes to 100% (all that takes is       not selling an item in a year or selling ONE item in a year).              My item wasn't that much. It was a few cents over 25.00 with       shipping. the seller was Joey2Long2. He's not responded to three       emails and I contacted one of the people who left feedback for him       (here's another tip: don't leave positive feedback BEFORE you get       your item)!. They guy he ripped off left positive feedback that said       "waiting for item". wuh? He is only out a couple dollars as he won       two items for 99 cents (one was a silver proof mint set which should       have sold for quite a bit). Apparently the guy didn't get the prices       he wanted and hence the rip-off.              Here's another tip: DO NOT LIST items at 99 cents or whatever unless       you are willing to take the lump if you sell it at 99 cents. I never       list my items for less than I'll accept (and when I list the price, I       consider the fees I'll be paying for Pay Pal and Ebay and tack those       on). On the item I bid on from JOEY2LONG2, it sold for about 10       dollars less than it's normal going rate. I knew why (the poor       listing skill/description). So if you aren't going to learn how to       list properly, then expect not to get the price you want! But don't       rip people off. You never know who you'll piss off for one thing!              Hopefully this helps people!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
