From: dahoov2@cox.net              Every year I look forward to Summerfest, a Navy base activity where       they get players from all sports to come and sign autographs for the       troops. They cancelled that even this year. First The Washington       Redskins Beach Blitz and now this.              They also have no signings at Bass Pro shops and events like Patriotic       fest and Harborfest which are huge events, have "lesser" known talent       this year. Several other events like 4th of July in Newport News etc       isn't having anything......... Even King's Dominion has no national       talent this year.              Guess the economy kicked in and anything FREE is cut out. Events that       can suck it up are putting lesser talent on and the only MAJOR talent       are coming here and charging a LOT of money with a few exceptions.              Today we did manage Aerosmith tickets for 30 dollars for two tickets       total including fees/taxes...........but that's gonna be an adventure       (our first "lawn seating"). We couldn't afford the closer tickets at       400 bucks!              General admission seating is coming back (remember that as a teen)?       Most of the venues have seating so it's odd to see other venues       opening up packing in more people in free for alls. But the tickets       are more affordable that way I guess.              You can see the difference in the economy I think!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
