|    TV show report and a couple today    |

From: dahoov2@cox.net              Clifton James and Glenn Beck today... that was nice.              However, my TV 15 seconds of fame (ok maybe 3 minutes) didn't go like       I'd have hoped. I learned a few things like 1) they twist what your       questions are to fit what they want to discuss 2) whatever they want       to discuss isn't necessarily what Suze wants to discuss. She'll pick       up on something and take that to be the question... 3) they talk about       you when you are done and don't disconnect you! LOL Well it was a       generic talking "what's wrong with these people" type of thing.              Anyway, my question was to do with 401k's and ours is losing money big       time. We lost more than 5k this past year, and the last quarter       alone, it lost everythign we put into it, all the money the company       matched PLUS 2k~ and last month, we only earned just over 1.3% on it.       That was after "diversifying". So my question was really if I should       stop putting money in there and put into a guaranteed 3-4% CD or Money       Market. But I was told by the producer to mention my son's college       costs... and that's where the question went. I was told essentially I       am retirement poor and his college (which is more than the mortgage       payment) is to be paid off by him... I need to tell him to pay it       back. I can do that, but the fact is it'll never happen. She doesn't       know the whole family issue about that subject....              So lesson learned also 3) they can't solve anything as they don't get       the whole story and you definitely can't do that in three minutes.              Now this will air in a couple months. I got a bit giggly on there (not       from nervousness, but from seeing my question go off on a tangent and       thinking to myself I knew she was gonna do that...).              Though this wasn't the epitome of a great experience, I do want to say       though, she has GREAT info in her books. More in the books than on TV       in my view. It's worth a read because she speaks normally (doesn't       give you a lot of financial mumbo jumbo without explaining it) and she       gets to the heart of the matter and what steps you need to take to get       some peace of mind in your life when it comes to finances. Now, if       anyone's got an extra 3/4 of a million for me, I'll be happy to put it       in my retirement account.... LOL              Those of you in your 40's on need a minimum of a million and those       younger will need probably double that. So get cookin'              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
