I don't want to go down to a shop or something and get taken....              Most large jewelers pay for your gold/silver right at the store. They get a       "spot price" -- the current price gold is trading at, then adjust for the       purity of the gold and cut a check. In jewelery 24K is pure gold, 10K it       10/24ths gold, the rest is filler metals. They won't take markings ay face       value, they'll do density tests to ensure it's not mismarked. I sold a lot       of silver bars this way in the 70s when the silver prices peaked, 5 lbs of 1       ounce bars, it took some time as the tested each one.              Best.       Bill              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
