Regular scans with USB-booted AVs downloaded elsewhere usually
reveal root-kits. Unless they are the "official gubermint" ones.

    Yeh, I use stunnel.
I have a "come and get me" attitude. Has not worked yet. Since
I do regular backups, recovery will be fun.
I still have DOS on this PC. And win 3.11, and Win 98 (win 3.1
and win95 were swallowed by the updates). When I buy a new HD I can't
get up the courage to wipe the old OS's. So I just xcopy them to a
   spare partition/folder.
