|    XP Pro - Display 'Appearance' doesn't st    |

From: ianREMOVETHISjackson@g3ohx.demon.co.uk              In Control Panel, Display, I want the Appearance to be "Windows and       buttons - Windows Classic style", "Color scheme - Windows Standard" and       "Font size - Large". This gives a silver taskbar etc.              However, every time I boot up, the screen has the 'in-your-face' bright       blue taskbar and green Start button. The Appearance settings have       changed to "Windows and buttons - Windows XP style", "Color scheme -       Default (blue)" and "Font size - Normal".              [Note that the Appearance is also affected by the settings in Control       Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, which override/re-set those       previously chosen in Display.]              At one time, I didn't have this problem. It started happening about a       month ago, when after about one boot in ten. I would get the Windows       default appearance. Since then, its frequency increased, until now it       does it every boot.              OK, it's not a great chore to change things back my desired Appearance,       but I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to get my       'easy-on-the-eye' silver setting to stick.       --       Ian              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
