   Bollix. You dont have to spend a lot of money training "everyone". You may have   
   a fair amount of training to get a limited number of IT personnel to install   
   Linux with the right software (where a lot of differences from Windows tend to   
   show). Get a XP lookalike Linux distro. With WINE installed. When up and   
   running   
   training should be minimal.   
      
      
   Anyway the original story smacks of FUD - the upgrade right now or else   
   dreadful   
   things might happen line of thought. XP can be tweaked. Disable floppy, USB   
   sticks etc if need be. Reboot after each login. Non admin users to have their   
   profiles reset to an initial configuration on login. I may be corrected but if   
   I   
   understand rightly XP is capable of being tweaked to restrict executables from   
   being run outside of administrator's folders. Windows7 IME does have that   
   capability. No need to upgrade to Windows 10 with its datamining   
    EULA.
