   Personally, I use Fedora but I'd never recommend it to a beginner.  My   
   suggestion is to experiment with various flavors of Ubuntu from a LiveUSB   
   and see which one you like.  The only difference between them is the   
   Desktop Environment, or DE; under the hood they're all the same thing.
