   This boot time seems unusual.  This IBM 8113 (ThinkCentre M52)   
   boots WinXP (SP3) in 90-120 seconds even with Malwarebytes,   
   which slows the first loading of each app (10-30 sec. each) but is   
   acceptable overall.  (MWB saved my bacon the single time this   
   system got hijacked:  perfect recovery via MWB Chameleon.)   
      
   I got rid of MS Office as soon as it was no longer needed (to   
   copyedit a journal that used MS Office formats.)  WordPerfect (X6)   
   and Quattro Pro handle all MS formats encountered in five years   
   and OpenOffice (freeware) is available in reserve.  All these   
   apps write proprietary files much more economically than MS.
