   Quite possibly. I had problems with a previous computer which worked   
   fine when I bought it, but each software update brought a more bloated   
   version that needed more memory, until they were swapping to disk all   
   the time.

   Well if I ever need to replace this machine, and can afford to do so,   
   I might consider that. In the mean time I'll start looking at Opera   
   and Chrome.
