   Somehow I got update working.   
   There was a thread on some board saying they changed the url and got it   
   working.  I copied the url and update opened and is working.   However   
   most links in any google search I click on still give me "cannot connect   
   to server" error.  I also got "500 internal server error".  So I can't   
   browse some of the Kb articles, at least in IE.  Google works, and a lot   
   of non MS sites like bleeping computers etc. work in IE.   
      
   Not that I'm in demand for a fix but..... XP should work even as   
   outdated as it is!
