   	For once I agree with you. UNLESS the provider supplies a Wifi   
   router with no Ethernet sockets and solders the ISP end into the wall.   
   	In which case the OP would need to purchase a USB Wifi adapter   
   with hardware compatible with XP.  It usually specifies that on the   
   box.   
   	It won't cost much more than US$ 20. Just plug it in, install   
   the drivers and you have Internet.

   	PS DO download and install the "Microsoft Windows XP Service   
   Pack 3" in whatever language your XP is (Italian?) before trying to   
   install the Wifi drivers. It's available on the Microsoft site. SP2   
   has almost as many vulnerabilities as Win 10.   
   	It's free.   
   	Use a friend's computer for that. It's about 350 MB. It's   
   called WINDOWSXP-KB936929-SP3-X86-(varies according to language).EXE
