XPost: alt.comp.os.windows-10, alt.windows7.general       From: mayayana@invalid.nospam              Interesting study here:              https://www.scss.tcd.ie/Doug.Leith/pubs/browser_privacy.pdf              Tested major browsers and tracked them calling home.       The worst: Edge, which calls home with a unique       machine ID. Most of the tracking can be stopped by       disabling autocomplete, push notifications, and so-called       safebrowsing checks. But Edge won't allow its check-ins       to be stopped.               Without disabling those default-enabled features, pretty       much every browser calls home with a full report of       every URL you visit. They report any change to the content       of the address bar for the auto-complete search functions.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
