   I kind of expected it. Open source community always has (a dissing)   
   compile-yourself atitude. Most aren't competent enough to provide compiled   
   binaries.   
      
   Your case can be worse. Wait until you happen to want/need an open source   
   software, and that software is hosted on an open source repository site   
   where "Release" only contain source codes, and compiled binaries are   
   contained elsewhere.
