   If we're swapping lecture anecdotes:   
      
   At school (not uni), we had the very opposite of the above: Mr. King in   
   geography used _his_ notes from when he was at school (the same school).   
   He _had_ added a footnote about North Sea Oil (this was the 1970s).   
      
   At uni, I once dozed off while actually in the act of taking notes; on   
   examination afterwards, the letters just got smaller over about three   
   words, then stopped.
