   I first encountered an Apple Mac in 1984. I remember I used MacPaint   
   to do a diagram or two for my Master’s thesis. Later I spent a bit   
   over a decade doing user support and (when I could find the time and   
   opportunity) programming work as the resident Mac fanatic.   
      
   Then when NeXT acquired Apple, and the old “classic” MacOS went off   
   into the sunset and they started moving towards being more   
   “Unix-like”, I figured why waste my time on half measures, I would go   
   where all the real “Unix” action was -- Linux.
