   The app you decided to download is an app with additional global features:   
     - ID Theft monitoring   
     - Device Protection Status for all devices on which the app is   
   installed(Windows, Android,iPhone, Mac)   
      
   i.e. it's a reporting approach to current and past status.   
      
   Some with multiple o/s and/or devices find it useful, others may see it   
   as unnecessary(i.e. dead weight, worthy of throwing in the circular   
   file, etc.)
