   you since most people write wanting help which makes one believe all Linux   
   does is break.   
      
   Before you install a Linux disto on your machine, make a ventoy usb stick and   
   and try out   
   a few.  You could bounce back and forth between them to compare.  Most Linux's   
   will boot   
   into a live version you can run a play with without breaking anything.   
      
   How-to Geek web site has a lot of articles on Linux.  You could probably just   
   search on   
   their home page for 'Linux' and get a ton of articles.   They've had a few   
   lately   
   comparing different distros (distributions).  https://www.howtogeek.com/   
      
   https://distrowatch.com/ will list and rank distros and they give reviews on   
   some of them.   
     I've seen some detailed reviews detailing the install and usage of a new   
   version.
