   Hi Arno,

I'm one of the few people on Usenet who, not only have a very strong
opinion based on experience, but my experiences determine whe4ther or not I
will *change* that opinion on a dime, if/when new information is produced.

I've changed my mind on WebDAV.

Recently I've copied my entire Android file system over to Windows over
Wi-Fi and I've found that WebDAV in the later Android operating systems is
nowhere near as reliable as it was in the earlier Android OS versions.

I haven't changed a thing in my Android WebDAV setup, and it's not working
as it was now in this later Android version than it did in prior versions.

Since I was in a rush to copy over all my Android data to Windows without
resorting to the kindergarten-style use of "the cloud", I didn't spend the
time to debug the various quirks that popped up which I never saw before.

Suffice to say that "maybe" WebDAV is less reliable than it was in the past
on Android (but I haven't tested the iOS WebDAV implementation recently).

I'll withhold judgment as I have more pressing needs to explore, but I will
let you know ahead of time that I need to re-assess WebDAV in so much as
its ability to mount the entire visible mobile device filesys on Windows as
   a read/write drive letter.

More later, as this is a courtesy response based on recent WebDAV
experiences even as I first tested WebDAV to mount Android onto Windows
many years ago and found it almost perfect for that use model at the time.

Thanks for keeping up on this as I never disagree with any logically
sentient point of view from anyone.

My analysis always starts with the simplest theory that fits the facts.
