   could ALWAYS be achieved by asking a Question which would be 'On Topic'   
   in that particular newsgroup.   
      
   e.g. in this alt.comp.software.seamonkey newsgroup, you might ask ...

   '3' variant (e.g. 3.0.1)??"   
      
   You'll probable get a response like "When the Devs think it necessary."
