   There are no settings that you could change in SM to make it work fully   
   with typical oddball (like almost every business or social media site)   
   sites: code needs to be written, or at least ported.   
      
   What I do is have Firefox ESR open as a sort of additional browser   
   window; if some site plays up with SM (GitHub, I'm looking at you), I   
   open that URL in FF. This is quite annoying since the PC is having to   
   run two lots of essentially similar browser code in its limited RAM/VM   
   (although FF uses multiple processes so doesn't crash through running   
   out of 32-bit addresses like SM).   
      
   Like Daniel, I think that a similar approach, customising Firefox, or   
   some other browser with an internal 3-digit version, as much as you can   
   to avoid whatever annoys you is the only practical way to do what you   
   want. By adding some extensions you might hit a just-about-acceptable   
   experience. But really that is off-topic here.
