   I found something from Gmail that sent me back to to the SECURITY   
   settings and there I changed the AUTHENTICATION METHOD to STARTTLS. That   
   allowed me to resend four rejected messages so may be the answer to my   
   problem. Since the problem seemed to be happening randomly I need to   
   watch it for awhile before declaring it fixed.
