|    Marking Cross-posts as Read.    |
|    21 Dec 25 23:52:14    |
From: daniel47@nomail.afraid.org              Back in the Mozilla Suite days (or was it Netscape Navigator days) the       ability to mark Cross-Posts messages as READ was removed/disabled for       some reason.              I recall a Bugzilla entry being made to request its re-enactment and, on       my HP Laptop, I did keep a record of the Bug number but that Laptop has       been replaced so I can't recall what the Bug number was .... or even       what my Bugzilla Log-in info was so can't check the details myself.              If anybody is interested in that Bug ... in the Eternal-September groups       (*.test, I think) today, one of the posters (Colin Macleod) was testing       incorporating this function into his newsreader (NOT TB or SM but does       'Newsgrouper' ring anybody's bells) and has achieved success,       apparently, so I asked if I could mention this to the SM Devs.              His information was posted to              https://chiselapp.com/user/cmacleod/repository/newsgrouper/info/       4c61510f13984fb              so if any of the Devs are interested in re-instating this ability, they       might want to have a look. Of course, it WILL be written in a Comp       Language you don't understand and the Variables will all be different       but you never know!! ;-P       --       Daniel70              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
