   SeaMonkey for Linux is built on X11/Xorg.   
      
   What you describe is what I encounter on Ubuntu/Wayland/Gnome.   
   Switching to Ubuntu's X11/Xorg mode recovers bold-highlight in the   
   Mail_and_Newsgroups for the 1st instance of SeaMonkey, but so much of   
   Ubuntu is now coded on Wayland, that it reverts to its Wayland base,   
   ignoring the X11 preference.   
      
   Is your openSUSE/KDE installed as either X11 or Wayland? If Wayland, it   
   seems like my own experience. Barry HTH
