   Sorry, I missed your OpenSUSE/Gnome. Gnome is now almost exclusively   
   built on Wayland and is shifting to dropping X11 completely.   
   I beleive OpenSUSE has to built/installed as either X11 or Wayland   
   desktop, but does not support both. Is that the case?
