I'm looking at versions 2.53.21, 2.53.19 (latest 32-bit Linux, and the
latest for the GTK on a soon-to-be-recycled LXLE 16.04 laptop).

The option is in the Edit menu on the main Mail window (folders at left,
messages listed at right, with message text below if you prefer).
Undo... and Redo... are the top two menu items above the first separator.

In 2.53.19, I'm in an IMAP Inbox folder.
   -	I select an example unwanted message
   -	I delete it with the Del key; the message disappears from the Inbox list
   -	The Edit>Undo (Ctrl+Z) option is enabled in the main menu
   -	I use Ctrl+Z, and then *refresh the Inbox list*: the message reappears
   -	the similar procedure using the menu option works in the same way.

So the key messages in the IMAP case:
   -	the menu item is Undo
   -	the folder has to be refreshed manually after undoing (why I thought
   that it didn't work originally).

Now, after selecting an example unwanted message in the Local Inbox:
   -	I delete it with the Del key; the message disappears from the Inbox list
   -	The Edit>Undo Delete Message (Ctrl+Z) option is enabled in the main menu
   -	I use Ctrl+Z, and then the message reappears
   -	the similar procedure using the menu option works in the same way.

So the key messages in the Local case:
   -	the menu item is Undo
   -	the folder doesn't have to be refreshed manually after undoing.

I guess this works similarly in 2.53.21 and later versions; will post if
   not.
