I sometime need such precise feature too.              A have several in my collection which match the requirement.              AkelPad. Has a limit for number of characters or words per line. Including       showing a vertical line for the limit at specific column number (can be       different that the wrapping position).              EditPad Lite. Has predefined limits for number of characters per line: 56,       64, 72, 80, 96. BUT: it doesn't seem to be customizable to a user defined       number. CAVEAT: WILL split & break words themselves. i.e. it character-wrap       instead of word-wrap. I think the author misunderstood the meaning of       "word-wrap".              MadEdit. Has user definable limit for number of characters per line.              PSPad. Has user definable limit for number of characters per line via       "soft-wrap" and "right edge" vertical line settings. "Soft wrap" must be       enabled, otherwise it'll wrap at window width.                     FYI, Notepad++ doesn't have any. What a shame.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
