   I think the common term is freemium, as in free that can go premium.   
   However, whether freemium or promotionware, they should promote forward   
   to the advanced version, not cripple back from the advanced version.   
      
   POP Peeper is neither freemium nor promotionware.  You can only download   
   the Pro version which degrades to the free version.  They are not   
   promoting their software.  They demote it.   
      
   "POP Peeper Pro will revert to the freeware edition after the 30 day   
   trial expires."   
      
   It demotes, not promotes.  Did you find a download for the freeware   
   version (i.e., does not install as Pro version that demotes later)?  Or,   
   during the install but before starting the install, can the user elect   
   the free version without ever getting the Pro features?  Some freemium   
   products will grant the selection during the install, so the user   
   doesn't end up with a product that later demotes to free.
