From: r9jmg0@yahoo.com              Allan, sorry to have to piggyback in order to reply to Chris, but I       can't see his posts. Might be because he's crossposting (I filter out       all crossposted messages), but I don't know for sure.              Allan Higdon wrote:       > Chris@invalid.com wrote:       >> Allan Higdon wrote:       >>>       >>> This is an excellent yt-dlp GUI and may become my favorite.       >>>       >>> "Vividl is a Windows app that lets you download videos from various       >>> websites, including YouTube, Soundcloud, Vimeo, Dailymotion and       >>> various media channels.       >>> It uses the popular downloader youtube-dl/yt-dlp to extract videos       >>> from several hundred websites.       >>> Just copy a video URL, paste it in Vividl and download the video in       >>> different qualities, convert it to other formats or to an audio track.       >>> You can also manage the parallel download of multiple videos and       >>> retrieve additonal meta information using the simple UI."       >>>       >>> Updated to Version 0.9.0       >>> Portable Version available       >>>       >>> Home Page       >>> https://sourceforge.net/projects/vividl/       >>>       >>> Changelog       >>> https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bluegrams/vividl/master/Changelog.md       >>       >> Big deal.              Chris, there's no point in saying something like that. Having that kind       of attitude is only going to get you plonked by the regulars here in       alt.comp.freeware. That would be a shame, because you often have good       things to contribute. Remember that this isn't a contest to see who can       recommend the best program. ACF is a newsgroup where (usually) people       try to discuss freeware in a civil fashion.              >> I use 3dy with my old Firefox 115.15 and download Youtube       >> with no problem. Been doing it for a long time with 3dy.              Just checked 3D YouTube Downloader out (it's always a good idea to       provide a link to programs one recommends so that others can easily also       review the software):               https://yd.3dyd.com/              I like that it says the program has subtitle support.              >> Tried Vivaldi about a year ago. It was to much of a mess with       >> unnecessary crap and generally a p.i.a. compared to my simple FFX 115.              Yes, Vivaldi (the browser) takes a little getting used to but it's       definitely a worthy replacement for Google Chrome. I keep it installed       as a backup to Firefox because occasionally a website has difficulty       loading correctly in FF.              >> It's incredible how 3dy keeps up with Youtube changes.       >       > I've looked at many of these video downloader programs.       > Almost all of them use yt-dlp for the downloading, so Vividl would keep       > up with Youtube changes as well as any of them.       >       > Vivaldi is not the same as Vividl.       > Vivaldi is a Web browser, not a video downloader.       >       > Vivaldi has been my default browser for close to 4 years now       > It's most similar to the old versions (up until v15) of Opera that I       > used, with many ways to customize it and keyboard shortcuts for everything.              I like the fact that I was able to install Vivaldi extensions which       duplicated the functionality of the extensions I have installed in       Firefox (I use the current version of FF.)              --       John C. No ad, CD, cripple, demo, nag, pay, pirated, share, spy,       time-limited, trial or web wares for me please.              I filter out crossposted messages, anything from various trolls and       block dizem.com. If you do the same, this newsgroup will be easier for       you to read.              Take back all the tech corporations from India.       Take at least some of the industry back from China.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
