   You misunderstand me (about not understanding you :-)   
      
   What I was suggesting was that the undiagnosed UUI problem might be   
   related to UUI having a 'lesser' capacity to solve certain problems w/   
   'seeing' the USB properly and so it 'balks' at moving forward, instead   
   of say, allowing such as its functions of 'redetect disks' or 'prepare   
   this device' it is 'confused'.  It thinks it can see the disk but then   
   something happens to cause it to cease to work properly.   
      
   My 'advice' about Rufus was a possible method to troubleshoot UUI;   
   namely -- use Rufus to reformat the USB and THEN see if UUI can do any   
   better.
