What I found very interesting was       how it works with HP laptops. They've been a bit of a PITA in the past       for me, because you have to set them to 'grub.efi'. Ventoy caused an       error in my HP laptop, but it was easy to solve.              I also liked the fact that you can easily update the flash drive and       that you can copy several ISO files to it.              > I'm a fan of booting live linux distro/s w/ persistence, which       > persistence comes in various 'forms'.              I'm familiar with 'persistence; I think UUI (and Rufus) has that option       as well.              > I like the persistence of MX/Anti-X, Puppy & EasyOS, and mkusb/dus; I       > don't really care for the type of persistence afforded by 'straight'       > ventoy or Rufus. ATM I'm just using it to install a Linux OS. I'm a       volunteer and help people with (small) digital problems. With W10 being       unsupported within a year people are frightened or think that they need       to buy that brand new PC/laptop for W11.              We can offer them an alternative by installing Linux Mint. Although I've       played with Linux I'm not a real expert. But for people who only use       their device for mail, browsing and office365, switching to Linux would       be ideal. I installed Linux Mint yesterday and the Dutch translation       seems decent (although obviously done by a Dutchman and not a Fleming).       It wasn't like that in the past. And I know installing new software is       also much easier than it was in the past (via terminal).              --       s|b              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
