I'd say aolm; alt.os.linux.mint would be best for you.

Because LM is a very popular distro, and because LM is very frequently
recommended for a linux beginner, and because LM is also popular w/
experienced users of linux, the group is friendly and accommodating to
new users by other novices, many many intermediates, and friendly
old-heads to serve as gurus in a group that has a mix of the less
   experienced.

I'm a big fan of having a linux daily driver, which in my case is LM,
and having a 'bevy' of fresh linux distro/s to run live to see what I
like about them, for the evolutionary changes in desktops, window
managers, and how the distro creator decides to set them up.

I boot live linux distro/s on a combination of USBs, SSDs, most
frequently w/ Ventoy, but sometimes not when the distro requires its own
USB to boot live. I'm fond of running a live distro w/ persistence, but
not all distro/s do the kind of persistence I like, which is not just
for persistent storage, but more importantly for persistent system
changes like an install would do.

Go for the aolm group whether you decide to start w/ that distro or some
other; it is a good group for getting help and learning things. It is
not 'partial' to LM, altho' I'd say most of the people there are running
   that as an install.
