Affirms Major General Farooq Khan, federal commissioner for aid to       Pakistan, in an event at the Cuban field hospital in Mansehra              BY JUVENAL BALAN NEYRA-Granma daily special correspondent              NO other country has left such a great imprint on Pakistan, from Shakote to       Banna Alai, affirmed Major General Farooq Khan, federal aid commissioner,       speaking in an event at the Cuban field hospital in Mansehra.              The ceremony was to acknowledge the medical attention given to more than one       million patients by members of the Henry Reeve International Contingent, who       have been lending solidarity aid to earthquake victims.              He noted that his government had asked Cuba if the contingent could remain       until March so as to avoid creating chaos within the Pakistani health system       and the response was that Cuban aid would continue as long as necessary,.       From the bottom of his heart he expressed thanks for Cuba's gesture of       solidarity in donating all the field hospitals with their equipment and       offering 1,000 scholarships to Pakistani students to study medicine in Cuba.              "You will remain in the hearts of Pakistanis for a long time," affirmed       Farooq Khan, describing as very noble this humane task on the part of the       Cuban doctors, so far from their country and families. Cuba and Pakistan       have created very strong ties of friendship.              During the event, Khan presented Bruno Rodríguez Padilla, first deputy       minister of Foreign Affairs and the Cuban government representative for the       solidarity and aid mission, with a plaque of acknowledgement of the       Contingent 's work from the Pakistani government.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
