Good idea. If I were to do that, the combination between my contribution to
what you're already providing could well overload the global stupidity
   meter.

It still is, although it is now more than one building. I have seen for
myself, I was just there this past weekend. (and, although I was very young
at the time, I was at the original building as well)

Big deal? Why did the roof collapse Beavis? It collapsed because the steel
structure holding it up *failed due to fire*.

DUCK! ... that clue bat almost took off your head.

Address the Madrid Tower and the Sight and Sound Theater. Then we can talk.
I'll even provide more samples if you are incapable of conducting such
research on your own. I'll even give you one where a steel structured
building completely collapsed because the building *next to it* burned.

However, you need to start by working on grasping the concept that the
question is "Can fire cause failure in steel structures?" - to which the
   answer is clearly yes.

Then you need to work on understanding the construction of the WTC towers.
The structure of the building was entirely steel, not steel and concrete.
The concrete was just a thin layer on the floors. It provided none of the
   structural integrity of the buildings.

For a concrete and steel building, look at the Madrid Tower. It was a
concrete and steel structure. The steel portion of the structure from the
17th floor up, collapsed due to fire. The concrete structure in the same
area remained standing. See if you can figure out why the collapse of the
steel structure stopped at the 17th floor.

After you've actually done some research and know at least a little bit
about the topic, then we can talk.

   Thanks for playing.

   Next.
