His firearm license       was subsequently revoked.              The wife very shortly thereafter withdrew her accusation of assault,       and no charges were ever laid, but the firearms and ammunition could       not be returned, as the (briefly) accused had no FAC/PAL anymore.              He spent several thousand dollars in legal fees and a year or two       (during which he couldn't hunt) recovering his license to possess       firearms. And when he asked the officer who led the raid to return the       several hundred dollars worth of seized ammunition, she told him that       it was destroyed, as the detachment couldn't store such materials.              I'm told that the officer in question, a former next-door neighbour of       mine, subsequently accepted an instructor's position at the R.C.M.P.'s       national training base in Regina, Saskatchewan.       --              Achim       _____/)       axethetax              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
