|    Potential U.S. war in South America    |

XPost: alt.conspiracy.new-world-order, alt.politics.bush, soc.cu       ture.latin-america       XPost: alt.politics.usa       From: tim.howard@suddenlink.net              I am watching the news nervously re: Venezuela, Ecuador, and Columbia       being on the brink of war. Several questions come to my mind. The       first obvious one is will the U.S. get involved to support one of it's       few remaining allies in South America (the rest are either anti-American       or fence-sitters) and to what extent. With Bush at low approval       ratings, and Republicans getting about half the turnout for the       primaries as the Democrats, the Republicans could use a war right now to       distract the voters and show how dangerous the world is and of course       how Republicans must be at the helm.              Other questions are will Bush go before Congress first? Will Congress       support military action in the region? If there is war, will Peru,       another ally of Chavez, get involved? This mess could spill over into       the next Presidency. Will "anti-war" Clinton or Obama remain neutral or       send in troops/bombers, etc?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
