re: emails              I'm not saying the hawthorne / mono road is       part of the testing range for NUWTL / AMD,       my guess would be ( and it's strictly a guess )       that if there is a " so called " range area , it's not       really a range as mush as adjacent land near where       they do weapons testing and the area " east "       of that highway is a direct corridor between tonopah       and hawthorne. the testing is probably actually done       directly over the restricted areas in both places with       planes moving back and forth between them at times.               TTR is just a VERY short distance from Hawthorne       ( as the crow flies ) and since BOTH places have quite similar       missile launcher stuff strewn all over the place , it ( to me at       least ) seems likely the military aircraft you see all over hawthorne        probably come from Tonopah and possibly similar types of       combined testing takes place related to both places. I'm just       guessing , but the aircraft seem to come and go in the direction of       the TTR . the highway would be on the left ( western )edge of the       transition area and actually borders the hawthorne range areas in       places.       they probably just close off the road mostly as a safety precaution       in case something goes astray. thats what I meant when I mentioned       finding a souvenirs. that maybe something will shoot off in an       unexpected direction and land in the desert near the highway ! I       can't say that I've seen any weapons launching that       actually went towards the highway ..... in fact , what I've seen (       from Lucky Boy peak ) would be heading ese or se , well within       the restricted areas at hawthorne and straight towards TTR !              I don't remember if I've even seen an airfield at hawthorne. they do       have some of those white aircraft beacon facilities there near       hawthorne , but I don't remember an actual military airfield ,       tho there might be and I just don't remember it ! the navy has such       a huge array of ship to air, and air to air weapons that it just       makes sense that a possible connection with the planes at TTR and       weapons testing at nearby hawthorne could take place. it seems to be       an obvious opportunity for both facilities since they have so much in       common !              thanks for your notes .              k...........              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
