   That level of energy is kind of wishful thinking. At least for fairly   
   conventional objects at merely orbital velocities. That size of hole is   
   something for a large sub-megaton nuke, or multi-ton REALLY   
   hyper-velocity object.   
      
   High velocity impact weapons may have problems with accuracy, as   
   guidance/sensing versus maneuverability may not be so easy within an   
   atmosphere.
